On 31 March 2010 the new refurbished Information Centre held an open afternoon which included an exhibition of school archives covering the whole period of school history from 1700 to the present day. Afternoon tea was provided (with cucumber sandwiches!) and a special cake had been made to mark the occasion.

There were a number of guests including local librarians, local clergy, governors, staff, pupils and parents. The school was delighted to welcome two special guests, the Mayor of Greenwich, Councillor Alan MaCarthy, and Mrs Alice Wood (née Street), who had been a pupil at the Blackheath and Kidbrook School from 1929 to 1938. Mrs Wood had given some historic photographs to the school archives and also provided valuable information about the school in the 1930s.
